QUILT UPDATE

OK the squares need to be 8 inches , I do not have any particular color theme going on except the back side assorted denims, will just see what I end up with and make it into something "pretty". Had some ask if they could put something on the denim squares and that would be great, like embroidery, etc....

Anything else you can think of would be great...

A thought about the quilt....

Was thinking it would be nice if we each added a piece of a printed cotton to add to the top of the quilt, didn't really have a good selection from Val's stuff.

So if you could get me a piece of fabric or an article of clothing in a 100% cotton I will cut it into squares and add to the quilt

A quilt for Lindsay/Luci

It has been brought to my attention that Valerie's daughter, Lindsay would like to be called Luci from now on.....

So if I am talking about Luci, thats who it is.

Everyone I talked to seemed to like the idea of making a quilt for Lindsay/Luci out of her moms denim pants and an assortment of fabrics from some of her tops..... so thats what we are going to do....it will be similar to the one in the picture that Anne made me for my birthday.

I am looking forward to this weekends retreat , scrapbook girls that is.... Oh the conversations we have already had, whoo hoo....

Hold on to your hats girls it's gonna get bumpy.......

"THAT'S MY BOY"

About a month ago Robin applied for a position on the Mayor's Youth Advisory Committee, had an interview and all, then we had not heard anything...

Well today I had him call and find out what was happening , and sure enough he was selected, they just hadn't notified him yet....

He will have monthly meetings where he gives the Mayor his opinion on what the youth in Medford feel about things...

Thank you card

Here is the thank you note and envelope I made for Diane , who made the flower baskets for Val's service....

I am still sick, so staying home again today.

TRUE FRIENDSHIP!!!???

ENOUGH OF THAT SISSY CRAPPOLA ABOUT FRIENDSHIP!

Are you tired of those sissy “friendship” poems that always sound good, but never actually come close to reality? Well , here is a series of promises that actually speak of true friendship. You will see no cutesy little smiley faces - just the stone cold truth of our great friendship.

1. When you are sad -- I will jump on the person who made you sad, like a spider monkey jacked up on Mountain Dew!

2. When you are blue -- I will try to dislodge whatever it is that is choking you.

3. When you smile -- I will know you are plotting something that I must be involved in.

4. When you are scared -- we’ll both high tail it out of here.

5. When you are worried -- I will tell you horrible stories about how much worse it could be until you quit whining…ya big baby!

6. When you are confused -- I will use small words.

7. When you are sick -- stay away from me until you are well again. I don’t want whatever it is that you have.

8. When you fall -- I’ll pick you up and dust you off.

This is my oath…I pledge it to the end.

“Why?” you may ask -- because you are my FRIEND!

Friendship is like peeing your pants, Everyone can see it,But only you can feel the true warmth.

Well what did you expect, I am home sick and under the influence of cold medicine......

A new day

Well the stress of last week has caught up with me and I came home early from work...SICK

"Where do we go from here......

Today was a roller coaster of emotions.....

And thanks to my friends, you gave me the strength to stand up and honor Valerie who brought us all together....

After today , slowly our lives will return to our regular routine....

And Lindsey's will be changed forever.

Marna, you touched our heart strings with your words....saying all the right things.

Diane the flowers you did for us were breathtaking.....

How befitting that as I headed home that there should be a RAINBOW over Valerie and Lindsey's home.....

"Prayers for Lindsey"

This girl is going to face many challenges in the days, weeks and years to come....

" Life is Short"

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - Mark Twain
